WHAT WE DO
Kids and adults are hungry for relatable history. We specialize in sharing aspirational moments from the lives of well-known artists and/or historical eras to bring each person and time-period to life.
We learn when we are having fun and exposing students to history through the arts is both fun and engaging.
ART, MUSIC & HISTORY…
...are close friends who influence each other and are inseparable. They are co-mingled in real time, so why not expose students to them simultaneously so they can learn in a fun, fully integrated way?
In this program, participants can see, hear and "feel" culture in a fun and engaging way. This kind of arts enrichment experience may be difficult for their schools and community organizations to provide.
““In every collaboration with the Bridgeport Public Schools, Ms. Newcomb has exhibited mastery of content knowledge, excellent management and pedagogical skills, and the ability to collaborate with children from various backgrounds and cultures. Her projects expand student knowledge of not only visual arts and music, but the underlying cultural foundations of the subject.” ”
MUSIC
We hire professional musicians who are passionate about what they do and the students feel it. Our musicians bring our topics to life. They also speak to the students about their instruments and answer questions to further engage students and enhance learning.
More than just back-ground fill or entertainment, live music has the power to open and engage our minds and hearts and stimulate our imaginations.
HANDS ON ART
Visual and tactile, our programs always include a hands-on art project that relates to the well-known artist and/or historical era about which we are learning.
We encourage each student's unique creative expression and value process over product. We also encourage students to use their imaginations as they create a visual interpretation of the subject matter.
